Telling your Volunteer Story

Speaker: Shefali Trivedi,
Executive Director
Giving DuPage

Location: Glen Ellyn Police Department
65 S. Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn.
September 25, 2019
9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Your organization wants to share the value and impact volunteers have in your organization and within our community, but sometimes that can be a challenge or difficult.  We need tools, tips, tricks and how to track the right information to tell that story. This presentation will help to craft that story beyond the numbers and getting to the heart of your bigger story - the volunteers themselves!

What you’ll learn:

  • The anatomy of a good story
  • Identify the information to collect to compel prospective volunteers, existing volunteers, organization leaders, supporters, donors and clients
  • How to use this information to weave a powerful story about how volunteers impact the bottom line of your organization
  • Create a simple plan to gather the right information about your volunteer engagement and then translate that to tell the story of a volunteer’s impact
  • Multiple real examples of how others are telling their story effectively
  • The Giving DuPage storytelling journey - how we are working on the same challenge
